On 18 January 2024, Mr. Chang Sung-Gil, Director General for FTA Negotiations, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand, at the Royal Thai Embassy. The two sides exchanged views on potential economic cooperation between Thailand and the Republic of Korea, and discussed their plans as well as respective internal procedures for the earliest commencement of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) negotiation, expectedly within the first quarter of 2024. The two sides reaffirmed their willingness to work more closely together for the EPA to be soon realized, which will enable Thailand and ROK to reap fuller benefits of their vast and complementary economic potential
