The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Thai Ambassador to the ROK. Heads and officials of Team Thailand agencies in Seoul, their spouses, and the Thai community participated in this event. The activities included a merit-making ceremony dedicated to Her Majesty the Queen, a ceremony to present royal tributes, and a candle lighting ceremony to offer well-wishes to Her Majesty the Queen.

Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea Welcomes BUS to the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul On 1 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, welcomed members of BUS because of you i shine to the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, for discussions and an exchange of views on promoting Thai soft power in the ROK through music, performing arts, and the contemporary entertainment industry as a means of fostering mutual understanding and closer people-to-people ties between the two countries. During the meeting, Ambassador of Thailand commended BUS for their success as one of Thailand’s rising T-Pop groups, which has gained growing popularity both domestically and internationally. He emphasized that the creative industries and contemporary culture play an important role in strengthening Thailand–Republic of Korea people-to-people relations, which serve as a key foundation of the close and longstanding friendship between the two countries. The Ambassador also invited BUS to help promote the upcoming Sawasdee Seoul Thai Festival, which will be held in Seoul on 20–21 June 2026. The two sides also exchanged views on trends in the Korean music and entertainment industry, one of the world’s leading soft power markets, as well as opportunities to enhance awareness of Thailand through the creative works of Thai artists, cultural exchanges, and cooperation between the entertainment industries of the two countries. Particular attention was given to the growing interest in T-Pop among Korean and international audiences. BUS because of you i shine, whose name reflects the message “I shine because of you,” is a Thai boy band under SONRAY MUSIC Co., Ltd. and is widely recognized among younger audiences as one of the leading new-generation T-Pop groups. The group consists of 12 members: Alan, Marc Kris, Khunpol, Heart, Jinwook, Thai, Nex, Phutatchai, Copper, AA, Jungtheer, and Peemwasu.

On 29 May 2026, H.E. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea and Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Seoul (ACS), led ASEAN Ambassadors and Representatives on a study visit to LOTTE Group's Research and Development (R&D) Centre in Seoul. On this occasion, ASEAN ambassadors and representatives met with the executive teams of the LOTTE R&D Center to learn about the LOTTE Group’s business operations and also visited various departments, including the Food Safety Management Department, Beverage Department, Confectionery Department, Processed Food Department, Cacao Lab, and Museum L.

Minister/DCM Chawadol Attends and Participates in Jogyesa Temple’s Buddha’s Birthday Dharma Ceremony On 24 May 2026, Mr. Chawadol Nipathannont, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, attended the “Buddha’s Birthday Dharma Ceremony” commemorating the 2570 Buddhist Era at Jogyesa Temple in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The ceremony was organized by the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and was attended by more than 10,000 participants, including President Lee Jae-myung, distinguished figures from various sectors, religious leaders of different faiths, bereaved families of socially vulnerable groups, and Buddhist devotees, all gathered to celebrate the birth of the Buddha. During the ceremony, Minister Chawadol has participated in the flower offering ritual, one of the key ceremonies of the event, while offering wishes for peace and mutual prosperity for both Thailand and the Republic of Korea. In his congratulatory address, Ven. Jinwoo, President of the Jogye Order, emphasized the wisdom of harmony and coexistence beyond conflict and division. Supreme Patriarch Venerable Seongpa also delivered a Dharma message encouraging all members of society to lead lives filled with happiness.

On 26 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, accompanied by Mrs. Sirirat Srichat, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affairs), Mr. Krist Mekkriengkrai, Head of the Consular Section, and consular officers, visited Osan Hankook Hospital to check on a Thai worker who is currently receiving treatment for a critical condition caused by acute kidney failure and a lung infection.
