Reception in Celebration of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, National Day, and Father’s Day, December 5, 2025 On 3 December 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, organized a reception in celebration of the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Thailand’s Father’s Day, 5 December 2025, at the Crystal Ballroom of the Lotte Hotel Seoul. H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK presided over the event on behalf of the Thai side and H.E. Chung Dong Young, Minister of Unification of the Republic of Korea was the guest of honor. Ambassador Tanee delivered remarks honoring His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s legacy and sharing ways to forge closer cooperation between Thailand and the ROK as a strategic partner. Approximately 550 guests attended the reception, including members of the diplomatic corps, political figures, senior officials from the ROK governmental agencies, executives from the Thai and ROK private sectors, press and media representatives, key opinion leaders from both Thailand and the ROK, officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand agencies, along with their spouses, and representatives of the Thai community residing in the ROK. Ambassador Tanee also presented honorary plaques to one retired former local staff member of the Embassy and one outstanding labour volunteer. The event featured exhibitions related to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, food stalls by Thai entrepreneurs in the Republic of Korea, showcases of products and capabilities of Thai and Korean private-sector partners, as well as an AI-powered traditional Thai costume (Chud Thai) photo booth in commemoration of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. Cultural performances included: the choral performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Korea and Arirang by Paiwha Girls’ High School, the xylophone performance by Fino The Ranad, and the traditional Thai dance presented by Thai students from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, organizes ceremonies and merit making to commemorate the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, 1 December 2025 On 1 December 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, organized a floral offering ceremony and a Buddhist merit making ceremony to pay tribute on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, 5 December 2025 at the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Thai Ambassador to the ROK. Heads and officials of Team Thailand in Seoul, their spouses, and the members of Thai community participated in the event.

Ambassador of Thailand meets with President of Dongguk University to discuss cultural and cooperation in Buddhism On 28 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, met with Mr. Yoon Jae-woong, President of Dongguk University, to discuss ways to promote exchanges in Buddhist studies through arts, as well as cultural cooperation between Thailand and the Republic of Korea. President Yoon stated that Dongguk University is currently cooperating with six universities in Thailand: 1) Srinakharinwirot University, 2) Mahidol University, 3) Chiang Mai University, 4) Chulalongkorn University, 5) Thammasat University, and 6) Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. In addition, in celebration of the university’s 120th anniversary next year, Dongguk University hopes to further expand cooperation with Thailand. In addition, the Ambassador proposed academic exchanges cooperation, such as the seminar on Thai-origin mural paintings at Jogye Temple in Seoul, which had been held in Thailand in August, and cooperation to organize the seminar again in the Republic of Korea next year. He emphasized that this represents an important and longstanding cultural and religious connection between Thailand and Korea. In a further internal discussion, Ambassador Tanee also introduced ideas for student exchanges through the American Field Service (AFS) program and the possibility of constructing a Thai–Korean hybrid architectural pavilion in Korea.

Charge’ d’Affaires a.i. Exchanges views on tourism cooperation with Standing Committee on Tourism, the House of Representatives of Thailand On 17 November 2025, Mr. Chawadol Nipathannont, Charge’ d’Affaires a.i., Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul welcomed Ms. Chanok Chanthathong, Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Tourism, the House of Representatives of Thailand and her delegation to the Embassy during their study visit in the ROK from 14-18 November 2025. On this occasion, the Embassy together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Seoul office, gave their briefings and exchanged views with the delegation on the best practices of the ROK in Tourism management and Thailand-the ROK tourism promotion and cooperation.

Chairman of Daewoo E&C pays respect to Somdet Phra Mahathirachan, Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimonmangkhalaram Today (19 November 2025) Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, arranged for Mr. Won Ju Jung to pay respect to Somdet Phra Mahathirachan, Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimonmangkhalaram, on the occassion of Chairman Won, Daewoo E&C, Herald Media Group, and the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul jointly organizing the Ignite Thailand-Korea Business Forum, Bangkok from 17-19 November 2025. Somdet Phra Mahathirachan shared his duties in promoting relations with various religious leaders including Buddhist in the Republic of Korea including construction of important Thai Buddhist temples including those in Paris, France and Boston, the US. Chairman Won shared Daewoo E&C construction and energy business in many countries and his role in promoting Buddhism as well as head of the largest Buddhist association in South Korea.
