On 14 June 2026, Mr. Chawadol Nipathannont, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, presided over the opening ceremony of the Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony and Songkran Cultural Festival held at Punseong Event Square in Gimhae. Approximately 500 members of the Thai community attended the event.

On 23 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Republic of Korea, led Ambassadors and representatives from the ASEAN Committtee in Seoul (ACS) on a joint courtesy call on Mr. Cha Yong-ho, Commissioner of the Korea Immigration Service (KIS) at Naru Hotel McGallery, Seoul. The joint courtesy call served as an opportunity for both sides to exchange ideas on how to foster closer collaboration, especially on immigration issues and the protection of ASEAN nationals in the Republic of Korea, as well as the protection of human rights.
Ambassador Tanee raised the issue of refusals for entry into the Republic of Korea for Thai nationals and reiterated his recommendations for KIS to make the Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) application process more stringent, in lieu of refusals for entry on arrival.

On 19 June 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, organized a merit-making ceremony dedicated to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita, on the occasion of the seventh day of Her Royal Highness the Princess’s passing, and a ceremony to pay tribute and a condolence book signing ceremony. The ceremonies were presided over by H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Thai Ambassador to the ROK. Heads and officials of Team Thailand in Seoul, their spouses, and the Thai community participated in this event at the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul.

On 8 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, led officials and staff from the Royal Thai Embassy, Team Thailand agencies, and their families as well as the Thai community in the ROK, to organize a volunteer activity to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand’s Birthday anniversary, 3 June 202ุุุ6 at Yongsan Senior Welfare Center, a food distribution center for around 350 elderly people in Seoul, by together (1) donating essential items such as tissue paper, drinking water, snacks, and dried food for the elderly people and (2) servings food to the elderly people.

On 17 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, presided over the launch of Seoul–Thailand Startup & Innovation Space (STSiS). The event was attended by Mr. Jong Pil Yoo, President of Korea Institute of Startups & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) and, Dr. Sura-at Supachatturat, Deputy Executive Director of Innovation Finance, National Innovation Agency (NIA), who offered congratulatory remarks. This inaugural event featured selected Thai startups led by NIA through the Global Investment Link (GIL) Program, alongside other promising Thai innovators, connecting directly with Korean investors, strategic partners, and ecosystem leaders.
STSiS will provide support to Thai startups/tech SMEs who are interested in expanding their business in Korea as well as Korean startups to expand their ventures in Thailand and beyond, by providing Ad Hoc working space and venue for organising activities to support startups and technology and innovation related SMEs, including side events, receptions, pitching, and business matching.
