Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea Meets with the Governor of Krabi Province to Promote Tourism, Trade and Investment as well as Discussed Possibility of Launching Direct Flights Between Krabi Province and the Republic of Korea
On 24 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, met with Mr. Angkura Siladhewakul, Governor of Krabi Province, and relevant agencies at the Krabi Provincial Hall to discuss ways to promote trade, investment, and tourism cooperation between Thailand and the ROK. Both sides agreed to promote Krabi province, a tourist destination with beautiful natural scenery, among Korean tourists and discussed the possibility of launching direct flights and charter services on the South Korea-Krabi route. They also discussed cooperation on biomass energy, by utilising local agricultural waste materials such as rubber wood scraps, coconut shells, and palm bunches as materials for making eco-friendly clean energy, as well as promoting the use of Krabi palm oil as an ingredient in the South Korean cosmetics industry. Additionally, they discussed the possibility of establishing a sister city between Krabi Province and Busan, focusing on the creative economy sector, particularly in filming and movies.
