Thai Ambassador Pays His Respects at the Funeral Service for Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea On 30 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, paid his respects at the funeral service for H.E. Mr. Lee Hae-chan, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, who passed away on 25 January 2025, at the funeral hall of Seoul National University. Ambassador Tanee also met with Mr. Jung Chung-rae, Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Ms. Lee Jae-jung, Member of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) and a member of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee. On this occasion, Ms. Lee Jae-jung expressed her sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Ambassador for attending the funeral service for the Late Prime Minister. They also exchanged views on the roles of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, including cooperation with private sectors and international organisations, as well as collaboration in the areas of ODA and KOICA. Both sides also expressed their intention to meet again to discuss ways to further promote bilateral relations between the two countries. The former Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan had an audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during Her Royal Highness’s visit to the Republic of Korea in 2004.
