Chairman of Daewoo E&C pays respect to Somdet Phra Mahathirachan, Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimonmangkhalaram Today (19 November 2025) Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, arranged for Mr. Won Ju Jung to pay respect to Somdet Phra Mahathirachan, Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimonmangkhalaram, on the occassion of Chairman Won, Daewoo E&C, Herald Media Group, and the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul jointly organizing the Ignite Thailand-Korea Business Forum, Bangkok from 17-19 November 2025. Somdet Phra Mahathirachan shared his duties in promoting relations with various religious leaders including Buddhist in the Republic of Korea including construction of important Thai Buddhist temples including those in Paris, France and Boston, the US. Chairman Won shared Daewoo E&C construction and energy business in many countries and his role in promoting Buddhism as well as head of the largest Buddhist association in South Korea.

The Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, Herald Media Group, and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), co-hosted the IGNITE Thailand–Korea Business Forum, Bangkok on 17 November 2025 at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok. The event drew strong interest from Thai and Korean private sectors, with more than 500 investors and business participants from Thailand and South Korea in attendance. The Opening Ceremony was joined by H.E. Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Thailand, Mr. Lee Hack-young, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Karn Karuhadej, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Mr. Maeng Sung-kyu, chairman of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee and H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK. Senior officials from various economic, trade, and industrial agencies of both countries, such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resource (MOTIR) of the ROK, the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, BOI, EEC Office, and IEAT—also provided comprehensive insights of bilateral economic cooperation. Throughout the forum, speakers shared perspectives on several key topics of mutual interest. These included updates on the Korea–Thailand Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (KTCEPA) negotiations, Thailand’s investment incentives, particularly for targeted industries such as biotechnology, smart energy, smart appliances, and semiconductors. The speakers also discussed opportunities for the further collaboration in the rapidly growing creative industries, such as digital content, film, music, K-Wave, and K-Beauty. The ceremonies were presided over by H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Thai Ambassador to the ROK. Heads and officials of Team Thailand in Seoul, their spouses, and the Thai community participated in this event at the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul.

On 10 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador to the ROK, called on H.E. Chung Dong Young, Minister of Unification of the ROK. The Ambassador discussed possible avenues for cooperation between Thailand-ROK and ASEAN-ROK in promoting peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and reiterated Thailand's support for President Lee's E.N.D. Initiative. The Ambassador and the Minister also took the opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen the close cooperation and longstanding relations between both countries.
