On 25 August 2026, Mr. Chawadol Nipathannont, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, attended the opening ceremony of the IDEAS Project: ASEAN Women MSMEs Acceleration EXPO at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul. Ms. Kanticha Laicharernkit, Head of the Economic Section, also attended the event and participated as a panelist in a discussion on “Issues and Challenges in MSME and E-Business Cooperation between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea.”
During the event, Minister Chawadol met with Ms. Nipawis Ritthirong, Chief of the ASEAN Cooperation Division, International Cooperation Department, Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), and the delegations. He also visited the exhibition booths showcasing products from four Thai women-led MSMEs, namely Cocoadoi Chiangmai Co., Ltd. from Chiang Mai, OURBESTTHINGS (Mae Pannee Kalamae) from Chiang Mai, Anna Avocado Co., Ltd. from Chiang Rai, and MUSHMORETH from Songkhla.
The IDEAS Project: ASEAN Women MSMEs Acceleration EXPO aims to empower women-led MSMEs to participate in the ASEAN digital economy, supported by the Government of the Republic of Korea through the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF) and implemented by the Asia-Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC) of Sookmyung Women’s University.

On 25 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suntaree Buchitchon, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, and delegation visited the Korea Institute of Power Human Resource Development (KIPHRD) to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the training and development of personnel in the energy sector between Thailand and the Republic of Korea.
Ambassador Tanee briefed the meeting on ongoing energy projects involving Thai and Korean companies, including B.Grimm’s offshore wind project in Jeollanam-do, EGCO’s joint venture with SK Energy in Paju, KLES’s Smart Farm/Smart Power Project in Chiang Mai, and a hydrogen project on Koh Tao Island in the Gulf of Thailand. Personnel involved in these projects, as well as those working in Thailand’s power sector, could benefit from training programmes that may be provided by KIPHRD. KIPHRD provided an overview of its roles and missions, followed by an exchange of views with the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, on opportunities to further promote cooperation in the energy sector.
KIPHRD provides training programmes for personnel from Korea’s five major state-owned power generation companies: Korea South-East Power (KOEN), Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO), Korea Western Power (KOWEPO), Korea Southern Power (KOSPO), and Korea East-West Power (EWP). These five companies are subsidiaries of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).

On 25 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Suntaree Buchitchon, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, and the representative from the Office of Agricultural Affairs, Seoul, visited the Rosso Co., Ltd. (Sungsimdang) Museum, which operates a traditional Korean-style bakery business and marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment in this year, at the Sungsimdang Cultural Center in Daejeon. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Im Young-jin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosso Co., Ltd. (Sungsimdang).
On this occasion, Ambassador and the delegations exchanged views with the executives of Rosso Co., Ltd. (Sungsimdang) on opportunities for promoting cooperation between Thailand and the ROK, particularly in the food and agricultural industries, as well as other areas with potential for further cooperation.
In addition, the representatives from the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, exchanged views on opportunities to develop cooperation in education and other areas of mutual interest, with a view to further strengthening linkages between the business sectors and educational institutions of Thailand and the ROK.
