During 19–20 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, welcomed H.E. Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour of Thailand, and senior executives from the Ministry of Labour during their visit to the ROK. The visit aimed to expand employment opportunities for Thai workers, follow up on the protection and welfare of Thai workers, strengthen bilateral labour cooperation, and engage with Korean private-sector companies employing Thai nationals.

Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, presided over the opening ceremony of “The Thailand Privilege Card Exclusive Business Briefing” at Lotte Hotel Seoul, Seoul, co-hosted by Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Seoul Office.
Ambassador emphasised that Thailand has strong economic potential, supported by high-quality infrastructure and facilities, as well as comprehensive capabilities in tourism, services, healthcare and wellness, food, creative industries, and other high-value businesses and services. Thailand is therefore well positioned to accommodate travellers seeking leisure, business opportunities, investment, or a long-term base of residence—all within a single destination.

Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, together with the Counsellor (Commercial) of the Office of Commercial Affairs, Seoul Office; Deputy Director of the Thailand Board of Investment, Seoul Office; Acting Chairperson of the Thailand-Korea Business and Friendship Council; Acting Deputy Chairperson of the Thailand-Korea Business and Friendship Council; and Head of the Economic Section, discussed with Mr. Bundit Sapianchai, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank), and his delegation.
Ambassador gave a briefing on Thailand–ROK economic relations and the promotion of trade, investment, and tourism, including the establishment of the Seoul-Thailand Startup & Innovation Space (STSiS) at the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul.
Both sides exchanged views on the overview of the economic situation, opportunities, and potential areas of cooperation between Thailand and the ROK, as well as ways of building networks and partnerships in the ROK.
Ambassador introduced the Thai-Korea Business and Friendship Council to the EXIM Bank delegation. The EXIM Bank delegation, in return, offered information to support the promotion of imports and exports and investment to the Thai-Korea Business and Friendship Council representatives for sharing with their members, which will enhance the capacity building of the Thai entrepreneurs in the ROK and boost Thailand’s overall economic growth.
