On 16 September 2022, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister of the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul had a meeting with Mrs. Jintana Chanbamrung, Director-General of the Department of Women’s Affairs and Family Development, and her delegation on the occasion of their working visit to establish the Thai women network in the Republic of Korea at the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul.

 

On this occasion, Minister briefed the delegation on overall situation of Thai labour in the Republic of Korea and the Embassy’s practices on providing assistance to Thai women in distress. Both sides also discussed and exchanged views on how to resolve the problem of illegal employment of Thai female labour in the Republic of Korea, which includes providing understanding of types of legal work, rights of female workers, and preparing Thai female workers for adjustment to the Republic of Korea’s society and cultures while applying to work legally in the Republic of Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS).
