On 20 June 2023, Ambassador Witchu Vejjajiva paid a courtesy call on Mr. Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City. Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Daegu and Thailand, building upon the Friendship Cities Agreement established by Bangkok and Daegu in 2017. Moreover, the Ambassador exchanged views with the Mayor on topics of mutual interest, such as the history of Daegu’s development into a city of future industries, the development of Daegu’s new airport, and promotion of trade and investment between both sides. On this occasion, Ambassador shared the information on Thailand’s key economic policies and investment incentives to attract foreign businesses, including those in the EEC, which the Mayor expressed his readiness to help disseminate to potential investors in Daegu.
