Elephant World Project in Surin Province, designed by Mr. Boonserm Premthada, a well-known Thai architect has been chosen by the selecting committee to be among ten finalists to receive the Human City Design Award (HCDA) in 2021. The HCDA is hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government and supervised by the Seoul Design Foundation that recognizes projects that propose directions for the use of designs in cities of the future. The winner of HCDA will be announced in March 2021 through online award ceremony.

The Judge Lu Xiaobo, a design expert and dean of Tsinghua University’s Academy of Arts and Design, evaluated the Elephant World Project in Surin Province as the embodiment of an “ethical and responsible attitude” that honestly thinks about how humans can exist with other species as equals.
