On 29 August 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, in his capacity as the Acting Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Seoul (ACS), led the ACS delegation in a meeting with Mr. Kim Jeong Do, Acting Commissioner of the Korea Immigration Service. The meeting aimed to discuss immigration-related issues as well as to promote the rights and welfare of foreign workers in the Republic of Korea. Ambassadors of Vietnam and Indonesia, representatives from other ASEAN embassies in Seoul, and the Ambassador of Timor-Leste were present at the meeting.

The Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, is now accepting applications for participants in the Dancing Som Tam Competition and Thai Song Singing and Dancing Contest, which will take place during the Sawasdee Seoul Thai Festival 2025, held from 6–7 September 2025 at Cheonggyecheon Plaza, Seoul. On 8 August 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, in his capacity as Acting Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Seoul (ACS), gave congratulatory remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the ASEAN-Korea Centre’s Seoul ASEAN Hall. Other high-level participants included H.E. Kim Jina, 2nd Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Mr. Kim Hwang-sik, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, and H.E. Mr. Kim Jae-shin, Secretary-General of the AKC. Ambassador Tanee underscored the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties between ASEAN and the ROK, given that such ties represent the foundation for the current close cooperation and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between both sides. He expressed his confidence that the Seoul ASEAN Hall, comprising a large exhibition space to showcase ASEAN culture and art in the heart of Seoul, would play a vital role in fostering greater understanding and interest in ASEAN culture in the ROK. The Seoul ASEAN Hall, located within the Seoul Press Centre, will be open for the general public to showcase its inaugural exhibition, titled “Fruity Fruit: Colorful Days in Southeast Asia” on 11 August 2025, which will last for six months.

The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Thai Ambassador to the ROK. Heads and officials of Team Thailand in Seoul, their spouses, and the Thai community participated in this event at the Embassy. The activities included a merit-making ceremony dedicated to Her Majesty the Queen Mother, a ceremony to present royal tributes, a candle lighting ceremony to offer well-wishes to Her Majesty the Queen Mother, and a well-wishing ceremony.
