Thai Passport
The applicant is required to make an appointment on https://cas.consular.go.th only
when the appointment is confirmed, please check date and time on the website before coming to the consular office
**For Minors under 20 Years Old who have long-term visa or Korean nationality,
The applicant is required to make an appointment via email [email protected] only
Required Documents:
Adults 20 Years Old and above
- An original of a valid Thai ID card
- An original of a current passport
- An original of Foreign residence card ( For applicant who has visa)
- A Legal name change certificate ( For applicant who changed name or last name)
- A police report from a local police station (only in case of loss or theft) or if unable to notify in advance, you can fill out the form during the appointment
Note:
- In case the place of birth does not match the original document, a copy of the birth certificate must be presented
- For residents with legal status : If the current ID card has expired, you can apply for a new one on the same day without making an appointment.
- For residents who overstay : If the current ID card has expired, you must make an appointment in advance to apply for a new ID card.
Minors under 20 Years Old
- A Thai Birth Certificate
- An original of a valid Thai ID card ( If minors have not had an identification card yet, they must provide the household registration and proof of education, such as a student ID or documents indicating that they are currently studying in the Republic of Korea , except when applying for the first passport).
- An original of a current passport ( in case of applying for a Second Passport)
- A Parents’ Thai ID card or Passport
- A consent letter and a copy of Thai ID or passport ( If father or mother cannot accompanied)
- A Marriage certificate/child custody certificate (Form Por. Kor. 14), or parents' divorce certificate ( If parents are divorced)
- A Death certificate ( If either parent is deceased)
Note: If the applicant is between 15 and 19 years old and applies for a passport without parental accompaniment, a consent letter from both parents is required.
Buddhist monks passport
- Thai Buddhist monk Identification Card
- A Letter of certification ( if the abbot certifies and request the issuance of the passport)
- An original of Current Thai ID card
- Household registration showing current residency
- An original of current passport
- Resolution from the Sangha Supreme Council
- Letter of permission to travel abroad for monks and novices (ศ.ต.ภ) if case of applying for an ordinary passport
Note:
- The certification letter must include the monk’s behavior record and must be issued by the abbot with an official temple seal
- Monks and novices are eligible to apply for a passport valid for 5 years only
Official passport
- An original of a valid Thai ID card
- An original of a current passport
- Government Employee ID Card (if applicable)
- Official letter from the employer
- A copy of
- Additional documents such as employment contracts or appointment letters for individual assigned to work abroad
Passports fee ( cash only )
- the 5 year passport fees 50,000 KRW
- the 10 year passport fees 75,000 KRW
Processing Time
Note:
- Individuals who wish to apply for a passport must come to the Consular office in person as there will be a biometric data collection, such as fingerprinting, photography, and iris scanning.
- Avoid wearing colored contact lenses on the day of service.
- The new passport will be produced and sent from Thailand which will take approximately 1 month
- We recommend to apply for a new passport at least 6 months before the current one expires in order to avoid problems when entering other countries or changing flights.
- Passport cannot be extended. Only a new passport can be issued
- The applicants who were born in the Republic of korea are eligible to apply for a First Thai passport ( 5 year passport) .For subsequent passports, your name must be listed on a Thai House Registration
*Two ways to add your name to a household registration document;
- Complete the process yourself in Thailand
- Contact the local district office for information on how to grant power of attorney to a third person to complete the process on your behalf
