On 20–21 December 2025, Mr. Chawadol Nipathannont, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission, led consular officials to provide consular services and legal briefings for the Thai community in the ROK at the Lotte Hotel Busan.
On this occasion, the Embassy also cooperated with a delegation from the Department of Consular Affairs, led by Mr. Bancha Yeunyongchongcharoen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of Thailand, in a campaign to encourage Thai nationals in the ROK to exercise their right to vote in the overseas election for Members of the House of Representatives.
Mr. Chawadol also met with approximately 500 Thai nationals who received consular services, as well as representatives from the Thai Friendship Center in Gimhae and the Nuad Thai Volunteer Association of the ROK, to exchange views and strengthen the Thai community in the southern regions of the ROK.
In addition, the delegation held discussions with Mr. Kim Gwang-yong, Head of the Foreign Workers Support Center in Busan, to learn about measures to assist foreign workers, including Thai workers. These measures include Korean language training to help upgrade Thai unskilled workers to skilled workers, as well as occupational safety training for Thai workers in the shipbuilding industry through Virtual Reality (VR) technology, which can be further adapted for public outreach and enhanced workplace safety awareness.
