On 26 July 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, organized a friendly football match between Team Thailand and the Thai Student Association in the ROK team at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The event was held to mark the occasion of Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen’s return to assume his duty as Deputy Director-General of Department of Consular Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after completion of almost 5 year term of duty in the ROK.

H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, presided over the opening ceremony of the match and delivered farewell remarks to Minister Bancha, recognizing his dedicated service over almost five years, and emphasized the Embassy’s commitment to strengthening the Thai community in the ROK. The Ambassador also expressed appreciation and gratitude to key supporters of the Thai community for this event, such as Professor Dr. Kewalin Simuang from the Department of Thai, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), for facilitating and generously providing the venue, as well as Zaab E-Lee Mae Yai S. restaurant for supporting the event with Thai food, WBC Muaythai Korea for providing beverages and fresh fruit, and Mr. Kim Gyeong Tae, Co-CEO of Gapyeong Hyojeong Volunteers and Ms. Sherilyn Eun, Advisor and Main Coordinator for the Thai Women’s Council for providing energy drinks and ice cream to all participants. The Ambassador’s residence also provided Thai tea as a refreshment for all participants.

The Ambassador led Team Thailand to play in the friendly football match against the Thai Student Association, whose team comprised Thai students from various universities and Korean students from the Department of Thai, HUFS. The event was lively and cheerful, filled with smiles and enthusiastic support from the Thai community.
