On August 11, 2023, Mr. Chung Hae-Kwan, new Ambassador for International Affairs of Daegu Metropolitan City had an introductory call with H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK. Ambassador Witchu expressed his admiration for Daegu’s determination to revive the city back into one of the ROK’s main economic hubs through its key projects, such as the construction of Daegu’s new international airport and the smart city development project on the site of the old airport. Both sides also discussed ways to promote trade and investment, academic exchanges, and job opportunities for foreigners, including Thai students, in Daegu. In addition, Ambassador Witchu expressed his readiness to further promote business opportunities related to Daegu’s new international airport to interested Thai business community upon further information from Daegu’s responsible agencies.
