Ambassador of Thailand attends the 8th ASEAN Connectivity Forum on behalf of the ASEAN Committee in Seoul

On 19 January 2021, Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea attended the 8th ASEAN Connectivity Forum, organized by the ASEAN-Korea Centre with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the ASEAN Secretariat, and the Construction Association of Korea. The Forum aimed to promote the ROK’s engagement in ASEAN connectivity and infrastructure development projects, and consisted of participants from the public and private sectors as well as organizations specialized in infrastructure and connectivity in the Republic of Korea.
 
Ambassador Rommanee delivered congratulatory remarks at the opening of the Forum in her capacity as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Seoul. She emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between ASEAN and the ROK on enhancing connectivity, including infrastructure and smart cities development, digital connectivity, and facilitating business travel in order to reinvigorate the region’s supply chain, and cooperation under the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 (MPAC 2025) and the New Southern Policy Plus Strategy, so that both sides can together achieve economic recovery and prepare for the Post-COVID-19 Era. Other sessions in the Forum included a panel discussion and project presentations on transport, energy, and smart cities from representatives of ASEAN member states.
