Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK Discusses Establishment of Thai Students Association in the Republic of Korea

On May 11, 2025, Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador to Seoul, met with Thai student representatives, led by the vice president of the soon-to-be-established association, to discuss the formation of a Thai Students Association in the Republic of Korea. The association will complete its first year in August/September 2025, enabling its official establishment in Seoul as a non-profit organisation.

The association outlined several operational plans, including electing a new president in June 2025, recruiting members through social media, developing an association website, organising a sports day/football event in Daejeon in September 2025, participating in Postech International in STEM, setting up a booth at the Sawasdee Seoul Thai Festival 2025 in September 2025, and notifying association members in case of emergencies or important events. Additionally, the Ambassador proposed collaborating on online orientations for new students and invited the association to join the "Zero O'Clock Festival" in Daejeon in August 2025.

The Ambassador provided advice and expressed willingness to support the association's activities. It is expected that the establishment of the Thai Students Association will enhance relationships among Thai students in the Republic of Korea and serve as a central point of coordination between Thai students and the Embassy.
