On 3 July 2024, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, visited Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) and met with Mr. Kim Chun-sik, Vice-President of HUFS, to promote efforts in elevating education cooperation between Thailand and the ROK. In addition, the Ambassador and the Vice-President exchanged views on how the Embassy can further support Thai language studies in the ROK and increased cultural and academic exchanges between both countries, as well as on how to promote understanding of and appreciation for Thai popular culture with ROK youth.

The Ambassador also took the opportunity to visit the Thai Cultural Corner housed within HUFS, which was established with support from the Embassy to serve as a hub for the study of Thai language and culture in Seoul.

The Ambassador met with Korean students from HUFS' Thai Languages Department and Thai students from a variety of universities in the ROK to discuss how to more effectively support cultural exchanges between Thailand and the ROK.
