On 15-16 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, led the consular team, labour affairs team, lawyer team from Hanmaru Lawfirm, and medical team from the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, to provide consular services, consultation services on labour-related matters and Korean laws as well as basic health and mental check-ups at Sehan University in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do.

 

Ambassador Tanee met with more than 330 Thai people receiving consular services, visited Thai community leaders residing in Mokpo and nearby cities, and discussed with Miss Won Jin Seon, Director of Jeonnam Counselling Center for Migrant Women, and Mr. Kim Jae Young, Director of Jeonnam Support Center for Migrant to learn about problems of Thai nationals in Jeollanam province and to strengthen cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, and the said agencies on providing assistance to Thai distressed persons in Jeollanam Province.

 

Ambassador Tanee also met with representatives of Thai skilled laborers who are working at shipyards and factories affiliated to Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in order to learn about their wellbeing and issues requiring support from the Embassy and Thai Labor Ministry.
