On 10 July 2024, Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission, and Sirirat Srichart, Thai Labour Attaché, met Mr. Lee Jae Yoo, the Commissioner of the Korea Immigration Service, and Mr. Kim Jeong Do, Director-General, Department of Immigration Policy, Korean Immigration Service, at the headquarters of Korean Immigration Service.
The discussion covered a range of issues, such as measures to decrease the number of Thai illegal immigrants in the ROK, measures to encourage Thai workers to work legally in the country, ways to solve the problem of Thai’s K-ETA holders being denied entry to the ROK, the progress of MOU on the Working Holiday Program, and the Embassy’s special passport service for Thais August - September 2024.
