On 19 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, met with Professor Dr. Shin Keunhye, Head of the Department of Thai Studies of the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) to present a financial contribution of 150,000 Baht to support the Thai-language teaching and studies in the ROK.

Established in 1966, Thai Studies Department of HUFS has received continuous support from the Royal Thai Embassy. The Embassy has played a key role in fostering the department’s academic and educational growth, including supporting the establishment of the Thai Cultural Corner which serves as a hub for Thai-language studies and cultural research. The Thai Cultural Corner provides students and researchers valuable resources and enriches the academic environment for Thai-language studies. The Embassy continues to play a critical role in deepening interest in Thailand and understanding of Thai culture and language for teachers, students and interested people in general.
