Labor Minister and Ambassador consults Kyonggi Governor, pushing for labor cooperation and people to people relations

Today (May 15, 2025) H.E. Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labor and delegation and Ambassador Tanee Sangrat held a consultation with H.E. Mr. Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Kyonggi. Gist as follows:
1. The Governor informed that Kyonggi has 1/3 of Thai nationals in Korea. He intends to take good care of all migrant workers as he had established the Department of Migrants to promote good neighborliness with the locals of the province. He also arranged for visas for migrant workers and highly skilled people in AI and other hi-tech sectors. Minister of Labor asked the Governor to take best care of Thai workers
and wished him the best in his work.
2. Kyonggi province is coordinating with Bangkok Metropolitan on establishing sister city/province relationship. The Ambassador noted that he will expedite the process and consult further on other sister/province relationships.
3. The Governor suggested that Thai students and other countries can have a training summer camp in universities in Kyonggi, which there are 50 of them. The Ambassador will coordinate further with province.
