On 12 May 2025, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister, the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, welcomed H.E. Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Vice Minister for Education of Thailand, Dr. Phichet Phophakdee, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Education and his delegation during his official visit to attend the 7th APEC Educational Ministerial Meeting in Jeju Province of the ROK.

Minister Bancha shared information and perspectives on bilateral trade, investment, tourism, education and labour between Thailand and the ROK. At present, there are more than 45,000 Thai students studying Korean language which is the highest number in the world, therefore there are still ample opportunities to further promote Thailand-the ROK bilateral relations in various areas.

Vice Minister Siripong is ready to explore ways to promote vocational schools in Thailand to produce more Thai skilled laborers with Korean language skills to work in shipyards in the ROK as a pilot project in which the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul will collaborate with the Thai Labour Office in the ROK further.
