Ambassador of Thailand prepares to push for more stringent safety measures after a visit to two Thai workers seriously injured at work in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province

On 14 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, together with Mr. Krist Mekkriengkrai, Head of Consular Section, and a consular staff, visited two Thai workers who suffer injuries from workplace accidents at Su and Su Hospital, Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province.
One of them got serious injury.
Ambassador Tanee provided moral support to the injured worker after recovery from operation and also presented him a fruit basket. The Embassy is ready to assist the injured workers in coordination with the hospital for medical treatment and request their employers to claim compensation and benefits from the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service for them.
The Ambassador Tanee will have a meeting with the Labour Attaché and the Head of Consular Section before requesting for a meeting with the executives of the Ministry of Employment and Labour of the ROK on improvement of safety measures in workplaces for Thai workers in the ROK.
