On 26 July 2024, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission, Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul together with other ambassadors and representatives of United Nations Command Member States were invited by Commander of United Nations Command in the Republic of Korea to attend Commemorative Ceremony in honor of the 71st Anniversary of the Armistice Agreement of Korean War at Freedom House, Panmunjeon Village in Gyeonggi Province, the ROK.
On July 27, 1953, military commanders from the US (representing UNC), the Korean People’s Army and Chinese People’s Volunteer Army signed the Korean Armistice Agreement, ending 3 years of fighting. Thailand was among 22 countries contributing 6,300 combat personnel to support United Nations Command in restoring peace in Korean Peninsula.
