On 24 June 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, opened the Flea Market: Thai Street Food at Shinheung Haebangchon Market, Seoul, in which the Embassy supporting Thai community leaders and Thai restaurant operators in the ROK to co-organize in a Thai-style market for the first time from 24-25 June 2025 as a pilot project and a feasibility study for setting up a Thai Town at Shinheung Market in accordance with the initiative of Mr. Pawpisit Sriprateep, owner of 2 Thai restaurants there, namely, PAD KA PAW and Ginn Laoo Thai Issan Bistro, in the future. Mrs. Sirirat Srichart, Labour Attaché, and Mr. Krist Mekkriengkrai, head of consular section, also presented in the event.

There were 25 Thai entrepreneurs selling a variety of Thai food, drinks, products and handicrafts and Thai massage demonstrations by the Nuad Thai Volunteer Association in the ROK, as well as Thai musical performances by the Thai Students Association in the ROK.
