On 30 September 2022, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, handed over a grant of 500,000 baht (approximately 9 million KRW) to representatives of the Department of Thai, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), comprising Associate Professor Dr. Park Kyungeun, Head of the Department of Thai, and Associate Professor Dr. Kewalin Simuang, to support the establishment of the Thai Cultural Corner at HUFS.

 

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) has been a close partner of the Royal Thai Embassy in the promotion of Thai language and culture learning in the Republic of Korea, offering Thai language and cultural studies degree since 1966. The establishment of the Thai Cultural Corner at HUFS will play an important role in enhancing Thai Language and culture learning as well as fosters awareness and better understanding about Thailand in various aspects among students, teachers and the public.
