On 3 August 2022, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, met with Mr. Lee In Hyuck, Director-General of ASEAN Culture House (ACH) in Busan. During the meeting, both sides discussed possible cooperation activities to enhance local understanding and awareness of the cultures of Thailand and other ASEAN’s Member States, such as art and culture exhibitions, exchange of personnel and students in these areas, promotion of research and studies on cultural identities and social developments of each ASEAN countries, all of which will contribute to furthering mutual appreciation and friendship between the people of Korea and the peoples of Southeast Asia.

After the meeting, Ambassador Witchu also visited the permanent exhibition of the ACH featuring refined and representative art and crafts of ASEAN Member States. He also visited the special exhibition entitled ‘To A Faraway Friend: Beyond Afro-Southeast Asian Affinities, displaying artworks by artists from the Republic of Korea, Thailand and other ASEAN Member Countries concerning their impression and connection with Africa.

The Ambassador also stopped by at the ACH’s recent acquisition of Thailand’s TUK-TUK, a three-wheeled motor taxi, which was donated by the CP Foundation of Thailand and currently put on display as one of the key highlights in the main hall.
