On 17 May 2024, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, met with Mr. Park Heong-joon, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, to promote increased cooperation on trade and investment between Thailand and Busan, especially in industries in which Busan Metropolitan City has expertise, such as in supporting digital startups and innovation, as well as to elevate cultural exchanges and cooperation on tourism.

Ambassador Tanee also strengthened the Friendship Cities relationship between Bangkok and Busan and learned about Busan Metropolitan Government's vision in transforming Busan into a global logistics and financial hub.
