On 25 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, and the Consular staff, had a meeting with the Thai community leaders and entrepreneurs at Pad ka paw restaurant at Shinhueng Market in order to brainstorm on the potential location for setting up “Thai Town” at Shinhueng Market’s area.

The participants agreed to launch Thai-styled market pilot project, called “Thai Popup @ Shinhueng”, by inviting Thai entrepreneurs to sell various kind of Thai food and beverages, scheduled to start on 24-25 June 2025 for the first time.

More Thai culture such as Thai music, Thai boxing, Thai massage, Thai market, and Thai goods will be added up to promote Thailand to both Korean and foreigners in the future.
