On 28 October 2021, Ambassador Rommanee Kananurak, along with ASEAN Ambassadors to the ROK visited Pangyo Techno Valley in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, developed by the ROK government in cooperation with the Korea Land and House Corporation (LH) to be the ROK’s hub for technology and innovation, similar to the Silicon Valley model. LH assists companies that wish to set up business in the Valley through various tax and land pricing incentives, with a long-term vision of creating a comprehensive tech ecosystem. At present, Pangyo Techno Valley is home to over 1,300 tech companies such as Naver, Kakao, Nexon, NCSoft, more than 65,000 employees, and generates annual income of approximately 94 billion USD. On this occasion, ASEAN Ambassadors received a warm welcome from Mr. Kim Hyun Jun, CEO of LH and executives from LH, all of whom affirmed readiness to continue to support urbanization and smart city development in ASEAN countries.
