On 1 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Han Duck-soo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK), during his official visit to ROK.

 

Both sides reflected on the importance of the Thailand-ROK Strategic Partnership, formed from a shared legacy fighting side-by-side during the Korean War. They also agreed to enhance further cooperation in the following areas: (1) future industries, especially clean energy, digital, and soft power (2) people-to-people exchange, including facilitation for tourism and workers and (3) Utilising Thailand’s strategic location as a hub for expanding the ROK’s economic activities in the region. In this regard both sides welcomed LH’s project to establish a Korean industrial estate in Thailand, and SK Bioscience’s collaboration in using Thailand as a regional vaccine hub.
