Thai Ambassador to the ROK honoured five consular volunteers in the ROK

On 23 January 2024, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK presented an honour pin and a certificate of honour to each of five consular volunteers of the Embassy for the year 2023 as follows: (1) Mrs. Rongsangsri Nagarin; (2) Mr. Somkiat Chantaramonton; (3) Mr. I Soo Choi; (4) Mrs. Kritsana Phuengphai; and (5) Miss Wikranda Silanakorn. The Ambassador thanked these volunteers,Thai and Korean alike, for their remarkable dedication and continuous support to the Embassy’s consular work, especially on the protection of Thai nationals in the ROK, such as those who were seriously ill and could not afford the medical treatment fees or those who faced many other difficulties in life or at work here.
 
The consular volunteer project is the initiative of the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The project aims at recognising and honouring the outstanding contribution and support of both Thai and foreign nationals to the consular work of the Royal Thai Embassies, the Royal Thai Consulate-Generals and other overseas offices of Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony is organised on an annual basis.
