Thai community joins forces to establish Thai Women's Council in the ROK, to enhance status, develop women's careers and provide community service

On 8 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, held a discussion with Thai community leaders from various cities regarding the establishment of the Thai Women’s Council in the ROK. This non-profit organization aims to promote the status of Thai women, create career opportunities for Thai nationals, support community service in the ROK as well as strengthen networks and partnerships among the Thai community.

Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy, Mr. Krist Mekkriengkrai, head of consular section, as well as the President of Nuad Thai Volunteer Association in the ROK and the Vice President of Thai Student Association in the ROK also attended the meeting.

Ambassador Tanee provided advice and expressed his readiness to support the official establishment registration of the council in the ROK, which will definitely enhance strong networking among Thai women in the ROK and serve as the Embassy’s focal point on Thai nationals protection in the ROK. During this meeting, Ms. Yada Songsaengcharoen was selected as Acting President of the Thai Women’s Council in the ROK.
