On 8 July 2021, the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul in cooperation with the Thailand Board of Investment, Seoul and the Office of Commercial Affairs (Thai Trade Center Seoul) organized a trade and investment promotion seminar at iSquare Hotel in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province. The seminar aimed to promote Thailand’s trade and investment policies for Korean companies in Gimhae and Busan, including economic policies which the Thai government currently prioritizes such as the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and the Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model (BCG Model). Arrangements in the seminar were carried out in accordance with social distancing measures in the area which limited the number of participants. In total, 30 guests attended the seminar from both the private sector and business organizations in the area, namely the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Busan Support Center and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Gimhae. Company representatives that attended were from various industries such as electronics, automotive parts, medical and pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, etc., some of whom already engage in business with Thailand or ASEAN, meanwhile some have yet to enter the Southeast Asia market. Therefore, the seminar was a good opportunity to create exposure and awareness regarding Thailand’s economic potential, as well as to enhance the network between the Embassy, Team Thailand agencies, and the private sector and business organizations in the area.
