On 19 February 2024, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Chargé d’affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, together with Mr. Nithiphat Wattanasuwakul, Labour Attaché, had a meeting with Mr. Rangsan Anant, Managing Director of Vinc Placement Co., Ltd., and his delegation. On this occasion, both sides exchanged views on the Republic of Korea's provident fund system, which affects Thai skilled workers (E-7) in the Republic of Korea. Furthermore, both sides discussed ways to encourage more Thai skilled workers to work in the shipbuilding industry in the Republic of Korea, such as promoting vocational education institutions in Thailand to provide shipbuilding-related courses, particularly in training for being welders, ship painters, electricians, etc., and encouraging Thai youths to study in such fields in order to prepare them for entering the Republic of Korea’s labour market in the future.
