On 2 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK,  Mr. Rapiphat Chandarasrivongs, Director-General of the Department of Agriculture, and delegation had a meeting with Mr. Cho Sunyoung, President of KLES, to exchange views and experiences on solar farm development which is integrated with smart agriculture and explore opportunities for academic cooperation, research, and investment between Thailand and the ROK.

KLES joined the Embassy’s investment mission to Thailand in 2024.

KLES, founded in 2004, is a comprehensive research and engineering company that specialises in power plant facilities.  In October 2025, KLES and ENVELOPS Co., Ltd. signed an MOU with the Faculty of Agriculture and the Energy Research and Development Institute-Nakornping, Chiang Mai University, to foster collaboration in agrovoltaics research by establishing the agrovoltaics demonstration plot and a vertical farm for cabbage cultivation and solar power production as a pilot project in the Chiang Mai University campus.
