On May 20, 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, attended the opening ceremony of the "Global Day" event held at Yonsei University's Global Lounge and was greeted by Prof. Yong-Chan Kim, Vice President for International Affairs and key university officials.

The Global Day was held to provide participants with hands-on experience of the culture of a foreign country and this year Thailand was selected as featured country. The event showcased a diverse array of Thai food, beverages, and products from Thai companies namely Gloverse (Mukgrob Jelly), Freva (Coconut Snowballs), Naturas (Singha products), Hada Trading (Poy-Sian Inhalers), World Food (Tom Yum Goong Ramen and Pad Thai Kits), and Weekenders (Hand and Body Lotion, attracting a large number of young visitors.

Ambassador Tanee also discussed with executives of Yonsei University on ways to promote more academic exchanges between the two countries. At present, Yonsei University has academic exchange agreements with 8 Thai universities such as Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University and Chiang Mai University.
