On 8 August 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, led a delegation from Chiang Mai Province, comprising executives from Payap University and Chiang Mai University, teachers, students, and members of the Prince Royal’s College Alumni Club, to attend the opening ceremony of the 2025 Daejeon Zero O’Clock Festival. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Lee Yang Joo, Mayor of Daejeon Metropolitan City, and was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, cultural performance troupes from Daejeon’s sister and friendship cities, and a large number of Daejeon residents.
The Daejeon Zero O’Clock Festival is one of Daejeon’s most prominent annual cultural events, featuring an array of music, dance, and artistic performances that runs from the early evening to over midnight. The Festival serves as a dynamic platform for fostering international cultural exchange and mutual understanding, attracting both performers and visitors from around the world.
The participation of the Thai delegation, which includes a cultural performance from a cultural troupe from Chiang Mai, will help promote greater awareness and appreciation of Thai culture among the Korean public, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the close and cordial relations between Thailand and the Republic of Korea.
