On 13 September 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, in cooperation with the Thai community in Pocheon, organised the Ambassador’s Cup Football and Sepak Takraw Tournament at Mansegyo Stadium in Pocheon. The tournament brought together 12 football teams and 6 sepak takraw teams from Thai communities across the ROK.

Ambassador Tanee delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the importance of “love, unity and solidarity”, mutual support and consideration, as well as good sportsmanship and the spirit of fair play. He also emphasised the role of sporting activities in strengthening cooperation, solidarity and community ties among Thai nationals throughout the ROK. The Ambassador also expressed his appreciation to the City of Pocheon for its support in organising the tournament.

Ambassador Tanee also led the Team Thailand football team in a friendly match against a Thai community in the ROK team. The match was held in a warm and lively atmosphere, filled with fun, smiles, and friendship, further strengthening the bonds among participants and members of the Thai community.

In the tournament results, Tai Ban Zum Zaew won the football championship, while Thiang Niao won the sepak takraw championship.
