On 18 January 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, attended the Joint Memorial Altar of the victims in the Jeju Air crash accident whilst landing at the Muan International Airport, Jeollanam province taking place on 29 December 2024, which killed 179 people, including 2 Thai nationals.The ceremony was organized at the 2nd floor of the Hall of Muan International Airport. Ambassador also visited the accident site.

Around 1,200 people participated in this ceremony, including H.E. Mr. Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister; ministers from relevant authorities; the Speaker of the National Assembly; representatives from political parties; the Governor of Jeollanam province; the Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City; and the bereaved family members.
