On 15 January 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the ROK, attended a luncheon for ASEAN Ambassadors hosted by H.E. Woo Won Shik, Speaker of the National Assembly of the ROK. Members of the National Assembly who have been nominated as President-Designates of Parliamentary Friendship Groups between the National Assembly and ASEAN member states were also in attendance.

Ambassador Tanee reiterated Thailand’s confidence in the resilience of democracy in the ROK and the Korean people’s ability to overcome the current political challenges. Given the longstanding relations and multi-faceted strategic partnership between both countries, Ambassador Tanee also underscored Thailand’s readiness to work together with the National Assembly to promote bilateral ties between Thailand and the ROK and to press forward on practical outcomes from the ASEAN-ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He particularly emphasised the need for more high-level visits between both sides.
