Minister attends opening ceremony of “Taste of Thailand 2022” event, jointly organized by Thai Trade Center Seoul and Hyundai Department Store

On 8 April 2022, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy attended the “Taste of Thailand 2022” opening ceremony at Hyundai Department Store Yeouido branch, jointly organized by Thai Trade Center, Seoul and Hyundai Department Store. Mr. Jang Woo-sug, Chief Manager of Hyundai Department Store warmly received Mr. Bancha and Ms. Chananya Punnarugsa, Director of Thai Trade Center, Seoul. The event, held from 8 – 28 April 2022, aims to promote and increase the sales of Thai fruits in South Korea.
Mr. Bancha thanked Hyundai Department Store for co-organizing the event with Thai Trade Center, Seoul in order to support the sales of Thai fruits in all 16 branches of Hyundai Department Store. He additionally informed that, starting 1 April 2022, Thai and Korean citizens can now resume traveling between Thailand and South Korea under the visa waiver agreement for a period of 90 days (previously suspended during the COVID-19 outbreak). Therefore, he hopes to see an increase in people-to-people exchanges, as well as in the popularity of Thai food and fruits in South Korea.
