On 21 June 2023, Ambassador Witchu Vejjajiva paid a visit to Keimyung University, one of Daegu’s most long-standing universities. On this occasion, the Ambassador exchanged views with Mr. Shin Ilhee, President of Keimyung University, on the history the establishment of Keimyung University, which started as a medical institution and has expanded its curriculum to cover various areas including liberal arts and science & technology, in line with Daegu City’s goal of promoting future industries. Both sides also discussed Keimyung University’s cooperation with Thailand. Keimyung has signed MoUs with 10 educational institutions in Thailand, and currently there are Thai students studying in Keimyung on an exchange program. Moreover, Keimyung University has close relations with Thammasat University; it is providing support for the establishment of a Korean language program at Thammasat, as well as a planned Korean Studies conference at Thammasat in autumn this year.
