On 22 June 2023, Ambassador Witchu Vejjajiva paid a visit to the Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CCEI) of Daegu City, which receives support from Samsung for its operations. On this occasion, Mr. Lee Jae-il, Director of Daegu CCEI welcomed the Ambassador and introduced the Center’s history and role. Daegu CCEI works to support startups in Daegu from the preliminary to launching stage, while enlisting experts from Samsung and other specialized agencies in the startups’ selection and evaluation processes. At present, the Center supports up to 400 startups per year from Daegu and surrounding areas. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups of the ROK governs all 17 CCEIs in the ROK, of which Daegu CCEI is the largest.
