On 21 June 2023, Ambassador Witchu Vejjajiva paid a visit to the Digital Innovation Promotion Agency (DIP) of Daegu to gain insight on Daegu’s usage of technology and innovation to foster its development. The Ambassador held a meeting with Mr. Kim Yu-hyung, President of DIP, to discuss DIP’s role in supporting the growth of Daegu’s SMEs to be able to develop and export their products. Afterwards, Ambassador met with the CEOs of two Daegu-based companies in the field of smart CCTV system/smart city ITS system, that have received support from DIP — Woonkyung Information Technology (WKIT) and Korea Alpha Systems (KAS). Both companies have ongoing projects in Thailand and are looking to expand the businesses, in which Ambassador expressed readiness to help support the growth of their businesses in Thailand, and invited them to visit the Royal Thai Embassy for further discussions.
