On 3 October 2026, HantaeMirae, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, organized the Mirae School – Term 1 at the Ambassador’s Residence. The event was attended by families, including Thai-Korean children and Thai children residing in the Republic of Korea (ROK), together with their parents, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Deputy Permanent Secretary Tanee Sangrat delivered the opening remarks and words of encouragement to the children, emphasising the importance of children and youth as a driving force and the future of both the community and Thailand–Korea relations. He encouraged the young participants to live and adapt happily to Korean society while maintaining their connection to Thai language, culture, and identity. He also highlighted the importance of love, unity, mutual support, and strengthening of the Thai community in the ROK.

The event featured a range of activities designed to encourage children to learn and have fun together, including storytelling and colouring, toy exchanges, sharing snacks, and taking group photos. These activities provided opportunities for the children to learn, build friendship, and enjoy meaningful time together with other Thai youth and children from Thai-Korean families.

At the same time, parents had the opportunity to meet and engage in discussions with Deputy Permanent Secretary Tanee, Thai community leaders, and representatives of Thai associations in the ROK. They exchanged views and experiences on raising children and living in Korean society, while also building connections among Thai families. These networks will serve as an important foundation for mutual support and assistance among families in the future. The discussions also explored the possibility of establishing a Thai Youth Return to the Motherland Programme, similar to initiatives undertaken among Thai communities in Europe and the United States, where the Ministry of Culture has implemented related programmes to strengthen young people’s connections with Thailand.

HanTaeMirae means Thailand–Korea Future. The Mirae School initiative provides a valuable platform for children and parents to learn, build friendship, and strengthen connections within the Thai community in the ROK. It also aims to support young people in growing into well-rounded individuals who can confidently live in a Thai-Korean society with dignity while maintaining a strong connection to Thailand and their Thai identity.
