On 14 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, presided over the Luang Pho Phra Sai Summer Songkran Procession at Wat Buddharam Cheonan. The event brought together approximately 1,000 members of the Thai community from across the ROK in a warm atmosphere of faith, cultural pride, and unity.

On this occasion, the Ambassador participated in Buddhist merit-making activities, including prayers, paying homage to the Buddha, and the ceremonial bathing of Buddha images for blessings and good fortune. He also met with members of the Thai community and reaffirmed the commitment of the Royal Thai Embassy to supporting and promoting the well-being of Thai nationals in the ROK. The Ambassador underscored the important role of Thai temples as spiritual, cultural, and community centers that help preserve Thai identity and strengthen social ties among Thais living abroad.

The Ambassador further highlighted the Embassy’s determination to enhance public services for Thai nationals by expanding the provision of mobile consular services to various regions throughout the country. This initiative aims to improve access to government services, reduce travel time and expenses, and better meet the needs of the Thai community.

The event also featured charitable food stalls organized by the Thai community and volunteers across the ROK, as well as a Thai massage charity booth operated by the Nuad Thai Volunteer Association of the ROK. These activities reflected the generosity, solidarity, and strong spirit of cooperation among Thais living overseas. Beyond preserving Thai cultural traditions and Buddhist practices, the event contributed significantly to fostering unity, resilience, and a stronger sense of community among Thai nationals in the ROK.
